Carbon Capture and Storage Roadmap Released by DOE/NETL

Constellation Energy Withdraws from DOE Loan Guarantee; Senator Bingaman Calls for Reform of DOE Loan Guarantee Program

On October 9, 2010, Constellation Energy Group (“Constellation”) issued a press release regarding the status of their loan guarantee application in connection with their UniStar Nuclear Energy Calvert Cliffs 3 project.  Constellation stated they wrote to the Department of Energy (“DOE”) and informed DOE that Constellation would not move forward due to “unworkable” proposed terms and conditions of the loan guarantee. DOE Awards More than $37 Million in Marine and Hydrokinetic Energy Grants

On September 9, 2010, the Department of Energy (“DOE”) announced more than $37 million in funding to 27 projects that will help develop marine and hydrokinetic (“MHK”) technologies.  This is the largest grant ever given to MHK technologies which generate power from the ocean, rivers, and streams. DOI and DOE Sign MOU on Offshore Renewable Energy Projects
