On January 6, 2015, FERC announced the dates of four technical conferences to discuss implications of different compliance approaches to the Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Power Plan.  The technical conferences will focus on issues related to electric reliability, wholesale electric markets and operation, and energy infrastructure.

The first technical conference will be a Commission-led, National Overview technical conference on February 19, 2015 at FERC headquarters from approximately 10:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.  Following the National Overview conference, FERC will hold a regional conference for the Western Region on February 25, 2015 in Denver, Colorado; the Eastern Region on March 11, 2015 in Washington, D.C.; and the Central Region on March 31, 2015 in St. Louis, MO.  The regional technical conferences will be led by FERC staff, but Commissioners may participate as well.  FERC’s notice stated that subsequent notices will be issued detailing the agendas, speakers, and locations of the regional technical conferences.
