FERC’s new web-based approach for the Electric Quarterly Report (“EQR”) filing process went live on April 1st.  In Order No. 770, FERC revised the EQR filing process, eliminating filing through FERC-distributed software and introducing a web-based approach that allows users to file directly through FERC’s website (see March 10, 2014 edition of the WER).

On February 28, 2014, the Commission had issued an order setting the deadlines for all public and non-public utilities to file Electric Quarterly Reports for the third quarter and fourth quarter of 2013, and for the first quarter of 2014 (see March 3, 2014 edition of the WER).

  • File third quarter 2013 EQRs during the period April 1, 2014 to April 30, 2014;
  • File fourth quarter 2013 EQRs during the period May 1, 2014 to May 31, 2014; and
  • First quarter 2014 EQRs are not to be filed during the period April 1, 2014 to April 30, 2014 – this period is extended to June 1, 2014 to June 30, 2014.

FERC has provided an informational sheet on the most common EQR validation errors and how to avoid them.  FERC recommends reviewing this information prior to making a filing.

The EQR site can be accessed here.
