On March 29, 2012, the Senate confirmed several Department of Energy (“DOE”) nominees.  The individuals confirmed were:

  • David Danielson as the new Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy,
  • Dot Harris as the new Director of the Office of Minority Economic Impact,
  • Charles McConnell as Assistant Secretary for Fossil Energy, and
  • Gregory H. Woods as the new General Counsel. 

Gregory Woods is the current Deputy General Counsel for the Department of Transportation, and prior to that he was a partner at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP.  Charles McConnell is currently serving as the DOE Chief Operating Officer in the Office of Fossil Energy, and before working at DOE he was the Vice President of Carbon Management at Battelle Energy Technology.  Dot Harris is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of Jabo Industries, LLC, a management consulting firm that specializes in the energy, information technology, and healthcare industries.  David Danielson has been a Program Director for DOE’s Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy, and before joining DOE, he was a venture capitalist for General Catalyst partners that focused on clean energy projects.
