DOE Announces Significant Increase in Funding for Smart Grid Projects

On May 18, 2009, DOE Secretary Steven Chu announced that the Department is increasing the maximum award available under the Recovery Act for Smart Grid programs. FERC Announces Regional Planning Meetings to Focus on Interregional Challenges

Obama Proposes Greenhouse Gas Emissions Standard for Cars and Trucks

In another step towards regulating greenhouse gas emissions (“GHG”) under the Clean Air Act, the President on Tuesday unveiled agreement on new automobile fuel economy standards that include regulation of automotive GHG emissions. The proposal would be jointly implemented by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) and the U.S. Department of Transportation (“DOT”). [Read more →]
